Hello From Beth Jones!

Hi all!  

 

I thought I'd tell you a little bit about myself in case you were curious about how I came to be doing what I do :o) 

 

As an adult ballet student and personal trainer, I wanted to design a range of dance fitness classes and personal training programmes that bridge the gap between dance and sports conditioning. 

 

 Having come to ballet as an adult, I am currently working my way through the British Ballet Organisation (BBO) grades, and hold the following fitness qualifications:

 

Level 2 Exercise, Movement and Dance Instructing:​

  • Principles of Exercise, Health & Fitness 

  • Instructing Gym-Based Exercise

  • Instructing Kettlebells

  • Instructing Circuits 

  • Designing and Delivering Exercise, Movement & Dance Classes

  • Designing and Delivering Exercise to Music Classes 

Level 3 Personal Training: 

  • Anatomy & Physiology for Exercise and Health 

  • Applying the Principles of Nutrition to Physical Exercise 

  • Planning and Delivering Personal Training Programmes 

  • Youth Exercise Specialist

​Additional Qualifications: 

  • Progressing Ballet Technique

  • Youth Exercise Specialist

Client Safety:

  • Health & Safety in a Fitness Environment 

  • Emergency First Aid 

 

Last but not least (and then I'll let you go!), I'll tell you a little bit about my academic background, and how I came to be interested in blogging. Before stating EPF, I studied for a PhD in Behavioural Pharmacology (the science of how different chemical signals affect the brain and influence our behaviour - specifically with regard to appetite, addiction and obesity), and have since worked as a Medical Writer, developing educational materials for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. This has left me with a passion for not only training my clients' bodies, but helping to educate individuals on how best to care for their own needs over the long term.
